According to the latest trade figures released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran exported non-oil goods worth $510 million to its eastern neighbor Afghanistan during the first quarter of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-June 21). This significant export value highlights the strong economic ties between the two nations, despite the ongoing challenges faced by Afghanistan. The head of IRICA, Alireza Moghadasi, stated that Iran's non-oil exports to Afghanistan have been steadily increasing over the past few years, reflecting the growing demand for Iranian products in the Afghan market. He emphasized the importance of maintaining and strengthening these trade relations, as they contribute to the economic development of both countries. Iran's non-oil exports to Afghanistan encompass a wide range of products, including foodstuffs, construction materials, household goods, and industrial machinery. The Afghan market has traditionally been a significant destination for Iranian exports, owing to the geographical proximity and cultural similarities between the two countries. Despite the political and security challenges in Afghanistan, the Iranian government has remained committed to supporting the Afghan economy through trade and economic cooperation. Efforts have been made to facilitate cross-border trade, improve transportation infrastructure, and streamline customs procedures to enhance the flow of goods between the two nations.
