Iran has successfully completed a major overhaul of the offshore gas platforms in Phases 5 and 6 of the massive South Pars gas field in the Persian Gulf. The maintenance work was crucial to ensure stable and uninterrupted gas production from this strategic energy hub amid heightened regional tensions. Mehdi Rajabi, the head of production operations at Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), which operates the field, stated that the overhaul was carried out without any incidents or disruptions, registering over 12,734 person-hours of labor. The South Pars field, shared between Iran and Qatar, is the world's largest natural gas field and a vital source of energy for Iran's domestic needs and export markets. The timely maintenance of the aging platforms is essential to sustain optimal production levels and prevent potential breakdowns that could impact the country's energy security and economy.
