In a move to bolster the industrial sector amidst the aftermath of the recent conflict, the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade has announced a comprehensive production support package. The initiative aims to sustain and revive industrial output, with a particular focus on sectors that have been adversely impacted by the war. Deputy Minister of Mining and Mineral Industries, Vajiollah Jafari, elaborated on the package's two key pillars. Firstly, it provides special assistance to industrial units that have suffered damage due to the conflict. This includes access to foreign currency and financial resources to facilitate the repair and restoration of facilities, as well as the procurement of necessary raw materials and equipment. The second pillar focuses on broader measures to stimulate industrial production across various sectors. This includes streamlining bureaucratic processes, providing tax incentives, and offering subsidized energy and utility rates to manufacturers. Additionally, the package aims to enhance access to credit and financing options for businesses seeking to expand or modernize their operations. Jafari emphasized the importance of maintaining a robust industrial base, not only for economic growth but also for national security and self-sufficiency. He stressed that the government is committed to supporting domestic production and reducing reliance on imports, particularly in strategic sectors. The production support package is expected to be implemented in phases, with immediate assistance being provided to the most severely affected industries. Longer-term measures will be rolled out over the coming months to ensure sustained growth and competitiveness within the industrial sector.
