Iran's Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi has reaffirmed the government's full support for private sector investment in renewable energy sources, as the country continues its efforts to expand its solar power infrastructure and address long-standing imbalances in the electricity sector. Speaking at a renewable energy conference in Tehran, Aliabadi highlighted the significant potential for solar and wind power generation in Iran, given its favorable geographic location and abundant natural resources. He emphasized the government's commitment to creating a conducive environment for private investment through incentives, regulatory reforms, and streamlined approval processes. The minister also announced plans to establish a dedicated renewable energy fund to facilitate financing for projects in this sector. Iran has set ambitious targets to increase the share of renewables in its energy mix, aiming to generate at least 10% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030. This move is part of a broader strategy to diversify the country's energy sources, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and mitigate the environmental impact of conventional power generation.
