According to Faroud Asgari, the deputy economy minister and head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran exported $11.655 billion worth of non-oil goods during the first quarter of the current Iranian calendar year, which spans from March 21 to June 21. This figure represents a significant contribution to Iran's economy, as the country aims to reduce its reliance on oil exports and diversify its export portfolio. The non-oil export sector has been a priority for the Iranian government in recent years, as it seeks to mitigate the impact of international sanctions and promote economic growth. The government has implemented various policies and incentives to support domestic industries and encourage exports of non-oil products, such as petrochemicals, minerals, agricultural products, and manufactured goods. Despite facing challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing economic sanctions, Iran has made notable progress in boosting its non-oil exports. The country has actively sought to expand its trade relations with neighboring countries and explore new markets for its products. Asgari emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to enhance the competitiveness of Iranian products in global markets and streamline export procedures. He also highlighted the role of the private sector in driving export growth and called for increased cooperation between government agencies and businesses to overcome obstacles and seize opportunities in international trade.
