According to the managing director of the National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC), Abdollah Mousavi, the purchase of 15 new drilling rigs is being planned to enhance the country's oil and gas exploration and production capabilities. This move comes as part of Iran's efforts to boost its energy sector and meet domestic demand while also increasing export potential. The new drilling rigs will be acquired through international tenders and will be equipped with the latest technologies to ensure efficient and safe operations. These rigs will be deployed across various oil and gas fields in Iran, including both onshore and offshore locations. Mousavi emphasized the importance of modernizing and expanding Iran's drilling fleet to keep pace with the growing demand for energy resources. He stated that the NIDC is committed to utilizing advanced drilling techniques and adhering to international standards to maximize resource recovery and minimize environmental impact. The acquisition of these new drilling rigs is expected to create job opportunities and contribute to the development of local industries involved in the manufacturing and maintenance of drilling equipment. It will also strengthen Iran's position as a major player in the global energy market.
